Boise, ID – The J.R. Simplot Company has named Brent Moylan its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Treasurer. Moylan will take over for Joel Barker who announced his retirement earlier this year.
“Brent has been instrumental in our global food expansion efforts for many years,” Simplot President and CEO Garrett Lofto said. “His leadership, business acumen and strategic mindset will be valuable assets across our organization as we drive growth while working hard to exceed customer expectations.”
Moylan has spent a total of 23 years at Simplot. He most recently served as the Vice President of Finance for the Company’s Food Group where he oversaw a team of 30 finance professionals and helped the Company achieve unprecedented success in its food division. He began his career with a 12-year stint with the Company before gaining experience at other organizations for a number of years. Moylan returned to Simplot in 2008 and has held several positions before being named CFO.

Barker retires after 30 years with the Company. He will stay on to help in Moylan’s transition through the end of this year.

Moylan rejoined Simplot in 2008 as Financial Controller in Food Group. Prior to that he was Corporate Controller for Woodgrain Millwork in Fruitland, Idaho, and Controller for a multinational electronics manufacturer. He began his career at Simplot as an accountant and also held management and assistant controller roles with the Company. Moylan has Business degree from Boise State University.
