Senior leaders at Simplot recently joined Boise State University (BSU) athletic administrators and school officials for the groundbreaking event of the North End Zone Project at Albertsons Stadium.
Simplot’s Donation Fuels Boise State’s North End Zone Project
This exciting project, supported by the generous donations from the J.R. Simplot Company and the J.R. Simplot Company Foundation, will introduce the Simplot Nutrition Lounge—a multi-use space and year-round dining room and nutrition center for all student-athletes. The lounge will also feature full-service grab-and-go menu items to keep athletes fueled before and after games.
Simplot’s multi-year partnership will also bring to life the new 900 square-foot Simplot Field Level Club space and the Simplot Club Entrance located in the northwest corner of the stadium. The Simplot Field Level Club will serve as a centralized hospitality space, complete with a grand staircase, fireplace and access to the player hype tunnel, along with food and beverage options.
“Boise State’s desire to build a year-round dining and nutrition facility is a great match to our purpose at Simplot of contributing to feeding our world,” said Garrett Lofto, President and CEO. “We hope that this grant helps to provide Boise State student athletes a world-class facility as they pursue excellence in education and in life.”
The extensive renovation to the North End Zone of BSU’s football stadium will include approximately 1,600 seats, featuring 12 field-level suites, 44 loge boxes, 148 ledge seats, 800+ club seats. The expansion aims to help accommodate more fans to the stadium. According to BSU’s athletic department leadership, for the last three years, the waitlist for suite-level and club seating has exceeded 250 people per game.
“Our thanks to the generosity and vision of the J.R. Simplot Company and the Simplot Company Foundation,” said Boise State Athletic Director Jeramiah Dickey. “Simplot has played such an integral role in the growth of this area and continues to invest year after year in our community, state and across the globe. We are grateful for their belief in ‘EPIC’ and commitment to the North End Zone Project.”
